    Week of August 19-23, 2019

    Welcome Back Cimarron Families!!!

    I hope you enjoyed a safe, restful, and fun summer vacation!!!  All of us here at Cimarron have been working hard to get ready for the first day of school. We are looking forward to an awesome year!

    • Monday, August 19- Magnet/New to Cimarron Orientation at 2:00pm in auditorium
    • The first official day of school is on Tuesday, August 20th from 8:01a.m. – 2:20p.m.
    • The 116th Street Gate and Valet will open at 7:45
    • If you are walking your child into the school, please do not park in the Valet
    • Classroom rosters will be posted near room 1 and the main office to find out which teacher/classroom you are assigned- Staff will be available to assist you!
    • Students line up on the main yard next to their room number and teachers will have signs
    • ETK/TK/Kinder Orientation, for all students and families, will begin in the auditorium at 8:15a.m.
    • A meeting for Parents of English Learner students about District Instructional Program Options for kindergarten students will begin at 9:30 in the auditorium.  For everyone else, this meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 2:30 in room 6.
    • School is dismissed at 2:20p.m. Dismissal Gates are as follows:                                                      
    • ETK, TK,K : Haas Avenue Kinder Yard Gate
    • 1st and 2nd Grade:Cimarron Ave. Gate on Yard
    • 3rd, 4th, 5th Grades:116th Street Gate
    • All Special Ed Classes:Main Office Gate (Please do not park in Bus Zone)

    If you have any questions, please call the office at 323-757-1226.

    The office will be open on Monday from 8:00-4:30. If you still need to enroll your student or sign up for the After School Program, please take care of this on Monday. Also, please note: If you are NEW to the Magnet School, you need to fill out enrollment paperwork, even if you attended Cimarron last year.

    Finally, don’t forget to join us on Saturday, August 24 for the 3rd Annual Welcome Back BBQ from 12:00-2:00, right here at Cimarron!
