Vision and Mission Statement

Since 1955, Cimarron Avenue Elementary School has been located in a lovely residential area in Hawthorne, California.  Our student body is made up of about 400 students.  Our goal is to provide students with rigorous, standards-based instruction in all curricular areas.  As an Academic English Mastery Program (AEMP) school, we are committed to promoting culturally relevant and responsive education.  With a strong emphasis on delivering fundamental knowledge and skills in the core subjects of reading, writing, and mathematics, we also offer instruction in social studies, science, technology, and the Arts to insure a well-rounded educational experience for our students. At Cimarron Avenue Elementary School we never settle for less than our best: every member of our Cimarron “Family” - students, parents, staff, and community volunteers - is a unique and valued component of our vibrant school culture.
